Our public sector trainers have many years of working knowledge and experience of local government. All have management experience having held positions as directors or chief executives of departments in local authorities.

Our Research Section provide intelligent gathering market research for local authority clients on services they provide to their citizens and their competitors  within their sector.

We have carried out a number of surveys on behalf of local authority clients looking to improve their services as well as increase their share of the market they provide to clients in their local authorities.

LIFTING & HANDLING

Manual Handling      Half Day

Minimum Attendees 4 at £45 per person, up to 12 people Max.

Anyone involved in lifting, pulling or pushing of any kind in the workplace. Lifting and handling is something we do every day, most of the time we don’t actually think about the risks and the damage that we could bring to ourselves.

Objectives by the end of the health and safety training workshop your participants will be aware of the dangers they face in the working environment. Be able to explain the makeup of and dangers to the spine. Know how to assess and approach a lift. Know four different lifting techniques. Have practised four lifting techniques in a safe environment

Health & Safety     Full Day 

Minimum Attendees 4 at £45 per person, up to 12 people Max.          

Health and safety are about preventing people from being harmed by work or becoming ill through work and the law applies to all businesses, however, large or small. This health and safety training course is required training for all staff members.

Objectives are at the end of this Health & Safety Training Course your participants will be able to: Identify the key responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act (HASAWA). Recognise the employees and employer’s responsibilities under the HASAWA. Identify what is a hazard and how to control the risks while at work. State the health and safety control measures in your workplace Recognise the accident reporting process within your workplace.

CUSTOMER SERVICES

Customer service      Full Day  

Minimum Attendees 4 at £45 per person, up to 12 people Max.

Customer Service course is aimed at anyone that deals with customers face-to-face. It could also be easily converted for those that deal with customers over the phone. Effective communication skills are the cornerstone to success in the business world today. Every job, no matter what it is, requires excellent communication capabilities.

Objectives by the end of this course your participants will: Be able to explain the importance of customer care for both them and the customer. Have considered how they are perceived by their customers and have a plan of action to improve this. Be able to explain the difference between Transactional and Relational customers and how to meet their needs. Be able to spot the GAP’s in service and change them. Have a written set of values that everyone will follow. Effective communication skills, your participants will be able to: Communicate clearly and get their message across. Encourage others to open up and speak freely with them. Communicate confidently with people at all levels. Cope with difficult communication situations.

cONFLICT hANDLING

A risk assessment is an important step in protecting your workers and your business, as well as complying with the law. It helps you focus on the risks that really matter in your workplace – the ones with the potential to cause real harm. In many instances, straightforward measures can readily control risks, for example ensuring spillages are cleaned up promptly so people do not slip, or cupboard drawers are kept closed to ensure people do not trip. For most, that means simple, cheap and effective measures to ensure your most valuable asset – your workforce – is protected.

The law does not expect you to eliminate all risk, but you are required to protect people as far as ‘reasonably practicable’.

Equality & Diversity course can be used to train anyone at work. They are especially useful for team leaders, supervisors, managers, HR people and anyone else involved in the management of people or organisations.  Also the sensitive issue of diversity and is intended for all employees. This training is suitable for any organisation that understands the importance and benefits of having a diverse workforce.

Objectives at the end of this training course your participants will be able to: Promote a culture which, values peoples’ difference, and which challenges any threat to an individual’s dignity and well-being. Define diversity, bullying and harassment and understand the effect on victims of such behaviour. State their role in challenging inappropriate behaviour and the impact they can have on changing the culture. Enable your participants to: recognise the key features and context of the Equality Act 2010. Describe the types of discrimination and various protected characteristics. Identify the impact of the Equality Act on colleagues, on your organisation and on working life.
